In order to overcome the segregation defect of high-speed steel roll in centrifugal casting, Nippon Steel Co., Ltd. developed the c-matching method (continuous casting outer layer forming method) for manufacturing high-speed steel roll. 1 it has the characteristics of energy saving and good roll performance. Its basic principle is to cast the molten steel as the material of roll layer into the gap between the vertical core and the water-cooled mold, while the molten steel is gradually deposited with the core. In order to make the outer layer of the casting and the core rod fully deposited, the CPC method uses electromagnetic induction heating to heat the molten steel and the core rod. The microstructure of the high-speed steel roll produced by 1cpc method is fine, uniform and has few inclusions, almost no shrinkage and porosity. The comprehensive performance of the roller is obviously better than that of the ordinary centrifugal casting high-speed steel roll. It not only overcomes the segregation defect of centrifugal casting roll, but also uses high-strength forged steel in the roll core, which is impossible by centrifugal casting method.
