NLMK’s share of domestic crude steel production is about 21%. It primarily produces flat steel products, semi-finished steel products and electrical steels. NLMK also produces specialty coated steels, plus high-ductility and micro-alloyed steels.

Background & Visiting Target
Last year the metallurgic plant in Kaluga ordered some CMT for testing. They promised to place an order for an annual demand this year. They would like to meet with LMM GROUP experts team of Continuous Casting Machine.
After receipt of this invitation from NLMK, our CCM senior engineer Mr Li, sales director Ms Rainbow and translator Ms Olya started our visiting from Jul 23 to Jul 31 for providing technical supporting.
Technical Supporting NLMK Kaluga & Ural
We started from hotel at 07:00a.m and reached NLMK Kaluga plant at 10:40. We dressed our equipment and started visiting the CCM workshop at once. Firstly understood their operational site to understand the basic information of the continuous casting machine and then saw our supplied copper mould tubes using pictures. NLMK was satisfied about our using performance. We supplied 4 pieces copper mould tubes with size 150x150x900R8000 FOR Kaluga plant, the performance was 1600heats and actually used until 1971heats. For Ural plant of 3 pieces copper mould tubes with size 125x125x801R8000, using performance was currently 823 heats. (120 tons/ 6x823heats = 16460 tons). NLMK Ural feedback the current copper tube performance was not the final one, the copper mould tube will be cleaned and polished after continuous casting of each 100heats. Final using performance can be known in autumn.
During discussion, NLMK do hope a higher performance and finally increase their recent production capacity according to the existing use situation. After discussion with our CCM senior engineer, we proposed to improve the inner R5 into R8-10, add composite coating and finishing machining.
