The lateral thickness difference of the strip (change in section shape) and the change in plate shape are caused by the change in the shape of the roll gap. The factors that affect the shape of the roll gap are:
(1) Elastic bending deformation of the roll. It makes the size of the middle part of the roll gap larger than that of the edge part, and the middle part of the strip is convex, while the edge part is thinned. The greater the rolling force, the greater the elastic bending deformation of the roll; the larger the diameter of the roll, the better the rigidity, and the smaller the elastic bending deformation of the roll.
(2) Thermal expansion of the roll. The heat generated by the deformation of the rolling piece during rolling and the heat generated by the friction between the rolling piece and the roll will heat the roll. The cooling lubricant in turn cools the rolls. The heating and cooling conditions are inconsistent along the length of the roll body. Under the influence of various factors, the thermal expansion of the middle of the roll is larger than that of the two ends, so that the roll produces thermal crown and affects the shape of the roll gap.
(3) Wear of the rolls. Friction between work rolls and strip, and between work rolls and backup rolls causes roll wear. There are many factors that affect roll wear, such as the material of the roll and the strip, the surface hardness and roughness of the roll, the rolling force and rolling speed, the size of the front slip and the back slip, and the distance between the backup roll and the work roll. Sliding speed, etc. will affect the speed of roll wear. In addition, roll wear is uneven along the length of the roll body, which affects the shape of the roll gap.
(4) Elastic flattening of the roll. During rolling, due to the action of rolling force, elastic flattening will occur between the strip and the work rolls and between the work rolls and the backup rolls. It is not the value of the elastic flattening of the roll that affects the shape of the roll gap, but the different sizes of the flattening value along the length of the roll body. For the work rolls, if the rolling force is uniformly distributed along the strip width, the elastic flattening of the work rolls is also uniformly distributed. Since the contact length between the work roll and the backup roll is greater than the contact length between the strip and the work roll, the pressure at each point on the contact length is not the same, which makes the elastic flattening value between the rolls along the roll body. The length direction is also uneven. Uneven flattening between the work rolls and backup rolls causes variations in the roll gap shape.
(5) The original roll shape (convex, concave or cylindrical) of the roll. The original roll shape of the roll is different, and the shape of the roll gap can be artificially different. In production, we use the original roll shape of the roll to compensate for the influence of the above factors on the roll gap.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”About LMM GROUP” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lmmgroupcn.com%2Fabout-lmm%2F|target:_blank”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1649296177864{margin-top: 50px !important;}”]friendship Link:
