The furnace roll is one of the key components of the roller hearth furnace. It is related to the cost of the furnace, maintenance, energy consumption and rational use of rare metals. When selecting materials, on the one hand, we must consider the conditions of use such as furnace temperature and furnace atmosphere, and on the other hand, we must consider economic rationality. At the same time, we must also consider the characteristics of the heat-resistant steel itself, and we can never think that the higher the alloy composition, the better.
There are many factors that determine the furnace roll lifetime, but the main factor is high temperature oxidation. As the oxide layer is continuously formed – peeling off – re-generation – and then peeling off, the roll diameter is reduced, the roll thicknessl becomes thinner, and the high temperature strength is lowered then finally leads to fracture. Our rolls can be corrosion-resistant for a very long time.
Our furnace roll is centrifugally casted, and highly corrosion-resistant. There will be a protective Cr2O3 layer in the oxidizing medium of the annealing furnace, which can effectively organize or retard the oxidation rate. Si enhances the oxidation resistance of steel above 900 °C. in the steel not only enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel, but also changes the microstructure of the steel and improves the toughness and high temperature strength of the steel.
