An air preheater is a device that recovers waste heat from exhaust gases to preheat the air for the next process, usually as combustion air in a furnace.
Welded plate air preheaters utilize a bundle of welded plates as the heat transfer element. Each of the two plates is welded together along the seams by an automatic laser welder to form a plate pair. Each pair of plates is then welded to four columns to form a plate bundle, which is the core heat transfer body for heat transfer in the complete air preheater.
