Application of power – assisted arm in the steel industry

Starting from different links in the steel industry, the specific applications of power-assist arms in steel production, steel processing, equipment maintenance and repair, and steel storage and logistics. In each link, combined with actual operation scenarios such as molten steel casting, ingot handling, steel cutting, etc., it explains how power-assist arms can improve efficiency, ensure safety, and enhance product quality.

Steel production process:

  • Molten steel casting: When casting molten steel, the ladle and related casting equipment are very heavy. The booster arm can be used to assist in the handling and installation of the ladle to ensure that the molten steel can be accurately and safely cast into the mold or ingot casting equipment. For example, in some small steel mills, the booster arm can help workers lift the ladle from the transport equipment and move it to the casting position, reducing the labor intensity and operation risks of the workers.
  • Ingot handling: The ingot formed after the molten steel casting needs to be taken out of the ingot casting equipment and transported to the subsequent processing area. The booster arm can easily grab and carry the ingot, improve production efficiency, and avoid safety accidents such as ingot falling during manual handling.
  • Molten iron transportation: During the blast furnace ironmaking process, molten iron needs to be transported from the blast furnace to the steelmaking workshop. The booster arm can be used to assist in the installation and disassembly of the molten iron transport tank, as well as to fix and adjust the molten iron tank during transportation to ensure the safe transportation of molten iron.

Steel processing:

  • Steel cutting: During the steel cutting process, large steel raw materials need to be fixed on the cutting equipment and perform precise cutting operations. The booster arm can help workers quickly and accurately place the steel raw materials on the cutting equipment, and remove the cut steel parts after cutting is completed, improving cutting efficiency and quality.
  • Steel welding: Steel welding is an important part of steel processing, and different steel parts need to be welded and assembled. The booster arm can be used to carry and fix welded parts, making the welding process more stable and accurate, and improving welding quality. For example, in some large steel structure manufacturing companies, booster arms are widely used in welding operations of large steel structures such as bridges and buildings.
  • Steel stamping: Steel stamping requires placing steel raw materials on stamping dies and applying huge pressure for stamping. The booster arm can be used to carry and install stamping dies, as well as to fix and position steel raw materials during stamping, improving stamping efficiency and product quality.

Equipment maintenance and repair:

  • Equipment parts replacement: Some large parts in steel production equipment, such as rolling mill rolls, reducer gears, etc., need to be replaced after a period of use. The power arm can help workers quickly and safely disassemble and install these large parts, shortening the time for equipment maintenance and overhaul.
  • Equipment maintenance assistance: During equipment maintenance, workers need to inspect and repair the internal structure of the equipment. The booster arm can be used to carry and move maintenance tools and equipment, as well as assist workers to enter the interior of the equipment for maintenance work, thereby improving maintenance efficiency and safety.

Steel storage and logistics:

  • Steel loading and unloading: In steel warehouses and logistics centers, a large amount of steel needs to be loaded, unloaded and transported. The power arm can be used to grab and transport steel, improve loading and unloading efficiency, and reduce problems such as scratches and deformation of steel that may occur during manual handling.
  • Warehouse management: During the steel storage process, the power arm can be used to sort and place the steel to improve the utilization of storage space. At the same time, the power arm can also be used to classify and mark the steel, making it easier for warehouse managers to manage and find it.
