LMM GROUP Copper Collector is a high-activity xanthate-based flotation reagent engineered to recover copper oxide and copper sulfide minerals from refractory ores. Manufactured in China and validated across 15+ years of plant operations in Chile, Peru, DRC, Zambia, Mongolia, and Indonesia, it is the missing piece after sulfidization — the reagent that locks onto the artificial sulfide film on malachite, azurite, and chrysocolla surfaces and pulls them into the froth.
The problem it solves
Copper oxide minerals are naturally hydrophilic — water clings to their surfaces, so conventional sulfide-flotation collectors cannot grab them. Direct flotation of malachite, azurite, or chrysocolla without pre-treatment typically yields recoveries below 30%.
How it works (sulfidization + collector chemistry)
Sulfidize first — Add LMM GROUP’s Sodium Sulfide (Na₂S) or NaHS to the pulp. Sulfide ions react with the copper oxide surface to form an ultra-thin, artificial copper sulfide film — turning the hydrophilic oxide into a hydrophobic “disguise.”
Collect second — The Copper Collector (xanthate-based) chemisorbs onto this new sulfide film. The mineral surface becomes strongly water-repelling.
Float last — Inject air; hydrophobic particles attach to bubbles and rise as a froth that is scraped off as a high-grade copper concentrate.
Why LMM GROUP’s Copper Collector
High xanthate activity (≥90 %) — strong chemisorption onto sulfidized surfaces for higher recovery
Stable in alkaline circuits (pH 8–11) — matches the operating window of sulfidization
Low odor, low dusting — safer handling vs. crude xanthate powders
Custom blends available — SIBX, PAX, SEX, or proprietary blends tuned to your ore mineralogy
ISO 9001 + REACH compliant — full export documentation
Recommended dosage
Copper oxide ores (after sulfidization): 50–200 g/t
Copper sulfide ores: 20–80 g/t
Final dosage tuned via lab-scale flotation test on your ore
