After optimization and transformation, the No. 2 continuous casting machine of a Chinese steel plant has realized for the first time the production mode of three large and three small “dual specifications” cross-sections, which can produce continuous casting slabs of two sizes at the same time. The three-large and three-small “dual specification” cross-section production model realizes the need for the No. 2 continuous casting machine to supply billets to the two rolling lines of medium rods and small rods at the same time. It not only improves the operation rate of the continuous casting machine, but also improves the heat transfer to the rolling line. The loading rate provides favorable conditions to further reduce production costs.

The No. 2 continuous casting machine is a “6-machine, 6-stream” large rectangular billet continuous casting machine. It adopts Danieli and other international advanced equipment technologies and can currently achieve continuous production of three specifications of sections. Among them, the 180*220mm specification continuous casting billet is mainly The billets are supplied by small rod lines, and the 320*420mm continuous casting billets are mainly supplied by medium rod lines.
In order to further improve the production efficiency of the production line, it was decided to optimize and transform the existing equipment to meet the “dual specification” cross-section production model of three large and three small. It is understood that 13 furnaces of 20CrMnTiH steel were produced on that day. The quality control of the production process was stable and the quality of the continuous casting billets was good.
The production line has produced a total of 8,155 tons of qualified continuous casting billets in accordance with the “dual specification” cross-section production model, injecting “new momentum” into the division’s ultimate increase in production and efficiency.
