When the tension acts on the rolled piece, the resistance of the rolled piece along the rolling direction will be reduced, and the flow of the metal along the rolling direction will increase, the flow in the width direction will decrease, and the width dimension of the rolled piece will become smaller and the length dimension will be reduced. It becomes larger, and eventually, it causes the rolling mill to break, rolling accidents, or the size and width of the finished product does not meet the requirements, resulting in waste.

At this time, the set-up roller is suppressed by the downward component of the tension, causing the set-up roller to fail to rise to position. When the tension is severely high, the set-up roller will drop with the increase in tension.

Precautions for adjusting the tension between racks

Generally speaking, the main method of tension adjustment is to adjust the speed of the rolling mill, but before this process is realized, it is necessary to ensure that the height of the rolling pieces of each stand meets the technological requirements. The speed cannot be adjusted while the roll gap is adjusted. It is bound to cause adjustment confusion.

After the rolling mill has confirmed the height of the rolled pieces in each stand, the speed of the rolling mill can be used to eliminate the tension one by one. To adjust the tension, start from the first frame and adjust backwards one frame at a time. If you start to adjust from the last frame, it is possible to adjust the back. When you adjust the first few frames, the tension relationship at the back will be destroyed again, causing an accident.
