Equipment selection and installation
Reasonable selection
Select the appropriate hot delivery roller according to the production capacity, billet size and weight of the continuous casting and rolling production line.
For example, for the transportation of large billets, hot delivery rollers with larger roller diameters and stronger load-bearing capacity should be selected;
For high-speed continuous casting and rolling production lines, equipment with high transmission system accuracy and fast response speed should be selected.
At the same time, the heat resistance of the equipment should be considered to ensure that components such as rollers and transmission systems can withstand the high temperature of the billets.
When selecting a motor, the power and speed of the motor should be determined based on the load characteristics and operating speed requirements of the roller.
For example, for a hot delivery roller that requires frequent start-stop and speed regulation, the use of a variable frequency motor can better meet the control requirements and effectively avoid motor overload.
Correct Installation
The installation of the hot delivery roller should be carried out strictly in accordance with the equipment manual and installation specifications. First of all, the flatness and strength of the foundation must be ensured, because an uneven foundation will cause problems such as tilting and vibration after the roller is installed.
When installing the roller, ensure that the axis of the roller is parallel and horizontal, and the spacing between adjacent rollers is uniform, so as to ensure that the billet is transported smoothly on the roller.
The installation of the transmission system is also crucial. The installation of the motor, reducer and coupling must ensure coaxiality. Excessive coaxiality deviation will cause vibration and premature damage to the components.
After the installation is completed, strict debugging and calibration must be carried out to check whether the running direction of the roller is correct and whether the speed meets the requirements.
Daily care and maintenance
Regular inspection
Perform regular visual inspections on the hot delivery rollers to check if there is wear, scratches, cracks, etc. on the roller surface. If there is a problem with the roller surface, it will affect the friction on the billet, resulting in unstable billet transportation. At the same time, check the various components of the transmission system, such as the motor, reducer and coupling, to see if there are any abnormalities such as looseness, oil leakage, overheating, etc.
Regularly check whether the connecting bolts of the equipment are tight, especially the connecting bolts of the rollers, support structures and transmission systems. Loose bolts will cause equipment vibration and affect operational stability. Generally speaking, a comprehensive inspection should be carried out at regular intervals (such as one week or one month, depending on the actual situation).
Lubrication management
Good lubrication is the key to ensure the stable operation of the hot delivery roller. The roller bearings and various lubrication points of the transmission system should be lubricated according to the specified lubrication cycle and grease (oil) type. For example, the roller bearings may need to be refilled or replaced with grease every few months (the specific time depends on the equipment operation and bearing type).
For the reducer, the oil level and oil quality of the lubricating oil should be checked regularly, and the deteriorated lubricating oil should be replaced in time. Insufficient lubricating oil or deterioration of oil quality will lead to increased gear wear and reduced transmission efficiency, thus affecting the stability of the hot delivery roller.
Cleaning work
Keeping the hot delivery roller clean is also important for its stable operation. Regularly clean the dust, oil and debris on the roller surface, drive system and support structure. Dust and debris may enter the bearings, gears and other components, increasing the risk of wear and failure. For example, compressed air or special cleaning tools can be used for cleaning, and care should be taken to avoid damage to the equipment during the cleaning process.
Operating parameter monitoring and adjustment
Speed control
The speed of the hot delivery roller should be dynamically adjusted according to the billet discharge speed of the continuous casting machine and the rolling speed of the rolling mill. The speed of the roller is monitored in real time by the speed sensor installed on the roller, and the speed of the motor is adjusted by the control system.
For example, when the billet discharge speed of the continuous casting machine is accelerated, the speed of the hot delivery roller should be increased accordingly to ensure that the billet can be delivered to the rolling mill in a timely and smooth manner.
At the same time, attention should be paid to the smooth transition of speed to avoid shaking or collision of the billet caused by sudden speed changes. In the process of speed regulation, advanced control algorithms such as PID control (proportional-integral-differential control) can be used to achieve precise speed regulation.
Temperature monitoring
Since the hot delivery roller conveyor is used to transport high-temperature ingots, it is very important to monitor the temperature of the equipment. Temperature sensors are installed at key parts of the roller and transmission system, such as the motor winding, the reducer housing, and the roller bearings. When the temperature exceeds the normal range, timely measures should be taken, such as checking whether the equipment is overloaded or the lubrication is poor.
In the case of excessively high temperatures, some cooling measures can be taken, such as adding ventilation equipment, using cooling devices, etc. At the same time, temperature monitoring data can also be used to analyze the operating status of the equipment and discover potential fault hazards in advance.
Load monitoring
The load of the hot delivery roller can be judged by monitoring the motor current and other parameters. Excessive motor current may indicate that the roller is overloaded, which may be caused by the size or weight of the billet exceeding the design range, the roller not rotating smoothly, etc. When abnormal load is found, the production process should be adjusted in time or the equipment should be inspected and repaired.
Fault prevention and emergency handling
Failure prevention measures
Establish a complete equipment failure early warning mechanism, and discover possible failures in advance by analyzing equipment operation data (such as vibration data, temperature data, current data, etc.). For example, when the vibration amplitude of the equipment gradually increases or the temperature continues to rise, it may indicate that the equipment is about to fail, and maintenance and repairs can be arranged in advance.
A certain number of spare parts should be stored for the vulnerable parts of the equipment, such as roller bearings, gears and oil seals of reducers, so that when a part fails, it can be replaced in time, reducing equipment downtime and improving the stability of the production line.
Emergency Response Plan
Develop a detailed emergency response plan to take prompt action when the hot delivery roller fails. For example, when the motor suddenly fails and stops running, there should be a spare motor or a device that can manually drive the roller to remove the billet from the roller to prevent the billet from staying on the roller for a long time and causing cooling deformation.
At the same time, after a fault occurs, maintenance personnel should be organized in a timely manner to diagnose and repair the fault, conduct an in-depth analysis of the cause of the fault, and take measures to prevent similar faults from occurring again.
